Just west of busy downtown Austin, sits a rare little jewel of a hair salon that has world class expertise expected in bigger salons, all nestled within the treetops. This Studio Salon offers practical services provided by professional stylists with years of experience. All of our stylists are highly educated in the newest trends, progressive coloring techniques and versatile styles designed to fit your daily life.The energy here is unmistakable, relaxing, unpretentious, and innovative! BONUS: Parking is free and plentiful, even during SXSW and on Saturdays.
About the Neighborhood:
The salon is located near Clarksville and close to Mopac between 5th and 6th Streets. There are plenty of restaurants close by: Wink, 68 Degrees Kitchen, and Clark’s Oyster Bar for sit-down dining, and Subway, Jimmy John’s and Counter Cafe for a quick bite. For a coffee break, Caffe Medici, Starbucks, and Houndstooth Coffee are a few choices nearby. Public transit is easily accessible.
About the Host:
Host Kim has owned this Studio Salon for 3 years, but Shade Tree has been established for the last 20 years. She has lived in Austin 17 years and has always worked as a hairstylist in the downtown area since moving here. She loves this business and plans to do hair until she’s 90!
