The ShearShare community is saddened by the news of celebrity makeup artist and beauty expert AJ Crimson’s untimely death yesterday. Crimson was one of the first in the industry that understood how to properly enhance the beauty of all skin tones and his makeup line, AJ Crimson Beauty, was a reflection of that. Since 2012, his makeup line has paved the way for beauty aficionados of color to find products that fit their skin tone. “I’m saddened to hear about AJ Crimson’s passing,” said Dr. Tye Caldwell, ShearShare CEO and Co-founder. “His artistry and makeup line changed the culture of the beauty industry. He will be sorely missed.”
Hollywood Shares Condolences for AJ’s Passing
Since the news of his passing, celebrity clients and friends have expressed their condolences. Crimson was the go-to makeup artist for clients such as Brandy, Lauren London, Missy Elliot, Regina King, Angela Bassett, and more. Crimson was a self-taught artist that honed his skills under the tutelage of Joanne Gair, Mathu Andersen, and the “Mother of Makeup,” Pat McGrath. AJ Crimson Beauty has been featured in industry-leading publications including Vogue, Harper’s BAZAAR, Essence, and InStyle. Crimson was only 27 years old.
