ShearShare is Expanding to Buffalo

ShearShare Co-Founders Talk Brand Growth and New HQ2 with Buffalo Business Journal

Most people wait until the New Year to make big changes to their lives, whether professionally or personally. However, ShearShare and our Co-founders, Dr Tye and Courtney Caldwell, are not most people.

ShearShare is ending 2021 with a major splash in New York. The news includes a new headquarters in Seneca Tower One, located in the heart of Buffalo, along with new employees, new investors and Dr. Tye and Courtney making their big move from Dallas, Texas up to Buffalo.

Our Journey to Buffalo

So how did we get here? Our amazing leaders sat down with the Buffalo Business Journal’s Dan Miner to talk about all the amazing milestones that have led to ShearShare ending 2021 on such a high note. It’s a fitting article because only a few months ago, Dr. Tye and Courtney were among a handful of other co-founders pitching their amazing startups for a chance at a $1,000,000 investment from startup accelerator, 43North. While we didn’t win the top prize, we were among the runner ups who received a $500,000 investment.

The 43N pitch competition created more opportunities for ShearShare to better serve our community of beauty and barbering entrepreneurs, including meeting and employing some of the best talent that Buffalo has to offer. With our mission of powering the future of work for the hair and beauty industry, we are in a constant state of growth and looking for a team of change agents to help push ShearShare to bigger and better heights.

Amazing Changes Coming to the ShearShare App

The article also talks about the amazing changes coming to the ShearShare App itself. With the feedback we’ve received from our ShearShare community over the last 2 years, we knew it was time to upgrade the in-app experience for our users. So we spent most of 2021 reimagining what ShearShare as a brand and a product could be for our industry.

We realized that chair rentals were just a part of our users’ business experience. We realize that growing a business requires everything from sales to data analytics, marketing and overall business management. So we are proud to be launching an updated ShearShare that puts our user’s business needs at the center with a host of new tools and listing management services that will not only help you make money, but help you save money as well!
