ShearShare Is Welcomed to Buffalo in Style

It’s been just over a month since ShearShare took the 43 North pitch competition by storm to head back home to Texas with a new investor and $500,000 in capital investment. Since then, we’ve been busy opening a new headquarters in Buffalo, hiring a number of new ShearShare employees and purchasing winter gear for our co-founders, Dr. Tye and Courtney Caldwell.

ShearShare’s New Buffalo Office

With our new investment came the opportunity to expand ShearShare’s footprint to Buffalo, New York to be a part of the major startup revolution that is happening in the North East of the United States. ShearShare joins dozens of tech startups that have decided to call Buffalo home and embrace the excitement Buffalo has for the startup community. The best part of moving to a new state and amazing city, is you get to throw a massive party… and that’s exactly what we did!

With February 1st marking the beginning of Black History Month, we were able to embrace our own community by hosting a party in the newly renovated shared workspace, The Exchange at Beverly Gray. The non-profit Beverly Gray Business Exchange Center honors Beverly A. Gray, a dedicated community advocate, first black female City Council Member for the city of Buffalo, and entrepreneur. She envisioned Buffalo’s Eastside as a hub for economic growth and ShearShare was proud to honor her vision by hosting our event in the space she worked so hard to make into a reality.

Throughout the event, members from the 43 North community were able to connect with East Buffalo community members and business owners to discuss the positive impact that the startups, like ShearShare, will have on the entire city including job creation, global exposure and of course residential growth. It isn’t lost on us that a lot of the attendees have never heard of ShearShare, but were just as excited to meet Dr. Tye and Courtney as we were to meet them.

The success of the event proved that ShearShare made the best decision setting roots in buffalo and are excited for what the future holds for not only ShearShare but our community of beauty and barbering professionals world work and especially in the city of Buffalo.

Thank You to Our Amazing Partners & Vendors

Speaking of community, we wanted to shout out all the wonderful partners and vendors who helped us make the event a success! The Exchange at Beverly Gray Executive Director, Derrick Parson provided us access to the beautiful space which is open to all startup entrepreneurs looking for workspace to manage their business. The catering was managed by Chef Jasmin Cailin K of Cailin’s Catering who offers gluten free and vegan friendly foods. Lastly, we danced all night to tunes brought to us by DJ Larry Loud!
