Proof of Vaccination Required in LA County

Los Angeles County Requires Proof of Vaccination Inside Personal Care Businesses

As the local, state and federal policies around Covid 19 vaccinations continue to evolve with new data, ShearShare wants to make sure you are up to date on the laws that affect you. If you live in LA county and operate a personal care business, which includes; nail salons, beauty salons, spas and barbershops, you will now be required to verify proof of vaccination for all of your customers when providing them indoor services.

Effective November 4th

The new law which was approved by the LA City Council on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 and states that upon entering an indoor or “covered” facility, clients and customers must show they have received a vaccine against the virus. According to the Los Angeles Times, while this ordinance states that this requirement will go into effect on Nov. 4, “because the law did not garner enough votes to pass with ‘urgency,’ it will take a little more than a month from now for the law to officially go into effect, according to the city attorney’s office.”

This law comes on the heels of a new surge in COVID 19 cases and hospitalization. We can only hope that with these mandates that businesses will continue to thrive.
